Cross-Border Data Governance Framework Adoption

The Forum's Cross-Border Data Governance Framework, developed through 18 months of multistakeholder consultation, has been referenced in regulatory proposals across the European Union, ASEAN, and the African Union. Three jurisdictions have formally incorporated elements of the framework into national data protection legislation.

Sub-Saharan Africa

Digital Financial Inclusion in East Africa

Working in partnership with the World Bank Group and the Central Bank of Kenya, the Forum's Finance & Economy Working Group developed a set of practical recommendations for expanding mobile money interoperability. The recommendations informed regulatory changes that contributed to a 23% increase in cross-border mobile money transactions in the East African Community.
